I built the practice banks on this site against all four published Claude exam guides, and I sat and passed CCAR-P with 965 out of 1000. This page is about an exam that has no guide yet, so I have been strict about which statements rest on a source and which do not.
What is confirmed
- The name. Claude Certified Developer – Professional. It sits on the Developer track, above Developer – Foundations (CCDV-F).
- The status: Coming H2 2026. That label appeared on the certification framework slide in Claude Partner Network Connect Episode 4, the partner-only livestream. Anthropic's own listing for that episode says it covered "partner training and certification updates." The presenters said Q4 2026 is likely.
- It is not live. As of 21 September 2026, Anthropic's certification pages list four exams: Associate – Foundations, Developer – Foundations, Architect – Foundations and Architect – Professional.
- It completes a pattern Anthropic already described. The July 2026 launch post says every path to getting credentialed "starts with a foundation-level certification and advances to the professional-level." The Architect track already works that way. This is the Developer track catching up.
What is not known yet
No exam guide, no domains, no weights, no fee, no item count, no launch date and no registration page. Anyone publishing a Developer – Professional blueprint or "exam questions" today is guessing, and anyone selling them is selling the guess.
What is reasonable to expect, and why it is only an expectation
The one Professional exam that already exists, CCAR-P, is a useful reference but not a promise:

Every Claude exam so far has been 120 minutes, scored 100–1000 with 720 to pass, and open only to Claude Partner Network members. That consistency is why most people expect the same here. It is still an expectation.
How to prepare now
Study the Foundations exam on the same track. CCDV-F is the published base of the Developer path: API mechanics, tool calls and MCP, agents and workflows, context engineering, model selection and evaluation. A Professional exam on that track will almost certainly assume all of it.
If you already design agentic systems, CCAR-F covers the adjacent build-and-design ground. CCAR-P shows what a Professional-level Claude exam actually asks: questions where two answers are both defensible and you have to know why only one is credited.

When this page changes
I will update this page as soon as Anthropic publishes an exam guide, and practice questions will follow the published blueprint. Until then, there is nothing honest to practice against except the Foundations exam beneath it.
